Should I Invest in a Sewing Machine?

Those of you who are relatively new to sewing or have been sewing for quite a while using an inexpensive machine may be wondering whether or not it is worth it to invest in a premium sewing machine. Not long ago, I was in your shoes!

I had been using an inexpensive machine that I purchased off Amazon quite some time ago for years and I knew no different. I was used to that particular machine and if I’m honest, it hadn’t really crossed my mind to purchase a newer one.

As time went on, sewing became a more serious hobby for me and I realized I was very good at it – but it was taking longer than it should simply because of my frustrations with my machine!

Skyline S3 Janome Machines

Having researched various janome machines online for a couple of weeks, I knew I wanted something that was easy to use and facilitated my need so I visited Mulqueen Sewing & Vacuum Center and they made some recommendations.

Let’s just say I don’t know how I lasted so long without a premium machine! After trying out various machines in the store I settled on the Janome Skyline S3.

For me, this machine gives me the perfect range of stitches for any task I put my hand to, it has 120 built-in stitches and 10 buttonholes with special settings for precise detailing. This machine even facilitates 7mm wide stitches!

Obviously sewing is quite detail orientated so having the functions available to me likeĀ  I now have with the Skyline S3 makes it all so much easier and definitely results in a better end product!

With the automated features on this machine and its customization capabilities, it makes sewing a breeze! Right now, I just wish I had invested sooner!

So, to answer the question – YES you should invest in a sewing machine. It saves, time and effort and makes the whole process easier and more enjoyable!
